Quality

Krautex, which works as the first link of the supply chain of herbal raw material used in food and pharmaceutical industries, spares no effort in ensuring high quality of its products. Our company undertakes many activities which improve the safety of our products.

We operate in compliance with HACCP standards. We also follow GMP/GHP standards and procedures. We adopt performance oriented approach and continuously raise the awareness of our employees so that our products are of an outstanding quality. We have been awarded with a HACCP certificate, which proves that our company is quality-oriented.

Our laboratory serves as a valuable asset as it controls physical and chemical properties, remains of plant protection agents and microbiological material present in the input. Therefore, we may quickly evaluate the input and remove the material with the parameters that cannot be improved during further processing (e.g. low active substance content, inappropriate color, remains of plant protection agents).

We know that even a small portion of low quality produce may result in the inconsistency of the end product. That is why, the laboratory analyzes the raw material in compliance with the documented company’s standards. Our Quality Control Department ensures that rules set out in HACCP documents are followed and the system is up-to-date in order to eliminate any possible dangers.

Ideal storage conditions with temperature and humidity control guarantee that the stored raw material and end products are of unvarying quality for a long time. Moreover, the computer-aided system that was designed specifically for Krautex allows for tracking the route from the raw material to the end product.

The on site steam sterilization line guarantees that our products are microbiologically clean, while cleaning machines with metal detectors ensure that the product is ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic material free.

We devote a great deal of effort to provide products that can serve as a safe base for our customers that they can use in their own production plans.

The tabs present the battery of tests conducted in our laboratory.

Testing for the remains of plant protection agents:

Our laboratory in equipped with devices that test for remains of plant protection agents in the purchased herbal raw material.

Highly dynamic changes within the use of pesticides and other regulations on the tolerance of pesticide residue requires a close cooperation of the Laboratory and the Sales Department. The suppliers provide us with the information on used protection plant agents. Moreover, our base is updated with the Polish and European norms and our customers’ suggestions.

Through testing every small batch of the raw material (from one supplier, from one farm) we eliminate the problem of pesticide residue in the end product.

Testing for active substance:

Our laboratory employs methods of liquid chromatography that allow for assessing the active substance content in the end product. Consequently, we can guarantee that the raw material we sell (e.g. valerian root) meets the European Pharmacopoeia Reference Standards.

Microbiological tests:

The aim of these tests is to ensure the appropriate microbiological quality of materials undergoing sterilization. We are able to test every batch of the sterile raw material so that the time between the end of the production process and the product discharge by the department is the shortest. We conduct tests for: TPC, E-coli, Salmonella, Coliform Bacteria, Enterobacteria, Mold, Yeast, Bacillus Cereus.

Physiochemical tests:

We conduct tests for: color, smell, total ash, acid insoluble ash, ethereal oil content, humidity, bulk density as well as insect content using the method of screening.
